UPSC IES / ISS Eligibility Criteria
The applicants have to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for appearing in the examination. Central government jobs always acts as a secure job. Many applicants around the country try their luck to get a chance so that they can serve for the nation. Following are the eligibility conditions for this particular examination:
I. Academic Qualification
a. Post graduates in Economy / Applied Economics / Econometrics / Business Economics for Indian Economic Service exam.
b. For Indian Statistical Service, Masters Degree in Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics / Statistics from a recognized University.
c. Final year students waiting for their results can also apply but in case of their selection a provisional admission will be done and if the selected candidate fails to produce the proof then his procedure to the admission will be cancelled.
d. Foreign University degree holders can also apply to the Commission and can be eligible at the discretion of the Commission.
II. Age Limits
a. Applicant must be between the age of twenty one yrs and thirty years.
b. For SC / ST applicants it is 5 yrs
c. Upper age limit is 3 yrs for the OBC category who are eligible for the reservation
d. Applicants domiciled in J & K from January 1st 1980 to December 31st 1989, the upper age limit is 5 yrs.
e. In case of Defence Services who were disabled in hostilities with foreign countries, upper age limit is 3 yrs.
f. For Ex-Serviceman the upper age limit is 5 yrs which includes Commission Officers and ECOs/SSCOs and have rendered 5 yrs in Military Services
g. Maximum 10 yrs for blind, deaf, mute, orthopedically handicapped applicants.
a. Indian Citizen
b. A subject of Nepal
c. A subject of Bhutan
d. A Tibetan refugee who came to India with a thought of settling here permanently before January 1st 1962.
e. Indian origin persons who have migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with a thought of settling in India permanently.
f. Applicants who come under categories mentioned in points 2, 3, 4 and 5 should provide the relevant certificate issued by the Government of India.
IV. Physical Standards
Admission for Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Service, the applicant must be physical fit as per the physical standards.
