Tips for preparing for National Defence academy (NDA) Examination:
National Defence academy (NDA) is such an examination that examinees basic knowledge of a candidate. Any one can not get success without real and basics knowledge. National Defense Academy (NDA) examines physical fitness as well as Mental Ability. Initially Written test after that physical test, psychological test are held.
First examination in the series of NDA examination is written .In written examination there are two papers – 1. Mathematics, 2. English and General Knowledge (GK). English and general knowledge (GK) are combined in a paper.
In mathematics there are 120 Questions consisting 300 marks and in another paper. There are 150 questions consisting 600marks .In these 50 questions are related to English costing 200 marks and Rest 100 question are from GK consisting 400 marks. You can easily understand that GK is most important subject in this NDA examination. So you have to give more time and attention to GK than other subjects. Total questions are of objective type and for every wrong answer there is one third negative marking. Now we come on to subjects.-
It is said that questions of NDA examination is of 12th level and NCERT books are very helpful in preparation of NDA. To prepare for NDA at first clear your basics and solve Questions of books from 8th class to 12th class specially algebra is not very hard and time taken so you can solve NDA questions fast when basics will be clear and calculation will be fast and accurate . In preparation of mathematics take care of time factor.
In English General Grammar is tested in NDA examination. Questions related to Synonyms, Antonyms, Reading comprehension, Jumble words, sentence sequence, spotting the error like general questions are asked. For solving these questions there is knowledge of English language is necessary. For preparation of English books of English grammar and English news paper reading are helpful Books of Norman Lewis and Peter funk are helpful.
This is Such a section in which there are questions asked from many subjects as science, history, Geography, currents events sports etc. For these subjects Upkar Guide and books Arihant are very helpful. You can also take help of year book. Because in these types of book subject related to whole year are found here. For current affair read news paper carefully. Write down important events daily. So that a index can be prepared of whole years events. You can also take help of books of Mani Ram Agrawal, Tarun Goel, etc.
One can be careful of time factor because there are not very tough questions but use of time according to question and capacity of tolerating pressure is more important. So read Whole syllabus and strengthen your basics. Then practices to solve problems and learn shortcuts. At last practice to increase your speed of solving questions. You must be confirmed that if you obey these things you will be certainly selected.
