People often tend to believe that hanging is by choking. But that’s completely a myth. The momentum that a convict gathers when he falls is proportional to his weight and height. At a point where the rope stretches to its fullest length, the chord ruptures and the vertebra brakes. Hanging is the most painless way of execution. Hanging by gallows takes about six seconds though the convict is kept hanging for half an hour. In comparison, it takes around 45 minutes to knock off a person by hanging by the ceiling fan.
