SSB Eligibility, Selection Procedure and Exam Pattern for Constable (Driver) Vacancies:-
Currently, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) requires 824 eligible professionals for appointment on the posts of Constable Driver. For this, applications are invited up to 1st August 2012. Essential Educational Qualification: Candidates must be passed 10th standard examination with driving licence of Heavy Vehicle.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should be under 28 years and above 18 years.
Selection Procedure: SSB will select candidates for appointment on the posts through following tests:-
- Physical Standard Test / PST
- Physical Efficiency Test / PET
- Written Test
- Driving or Technical Test / Trade Test
- Final Medical Examination
- Review Medical Examination
After completion the test of documentation and PST, Physical Efficiency Test / PET will be conducted on scheduled date. Pattern of PET is as follow:

After qualifying above three events, candidates will be eligible for appearing in written test. If candidates disqualify in any of the event will not be eligible for written examination.
Written examination pattern: In the test, questions will be framed in multiple choice objective type in following shape:

Candidates who pass the written examination will be eligible for appearing in Driving or Technical / Trade Test.
Pattern of Trade test: The test will consist 50 marks with following as driving test, knowledge of traffic rules and regulations and maintenance of vehicles. At least 35% marks must be secured by candidate in trade test to qualify.
After completion of the above given events, merit list will be prepared. Candidates are informed, the merit list will be based on performance in written examination.
Lastly, shortlisted candidates will be called for medical examination according to number of vacancies.
